When to use it
Collection-level pages where several products need their key numbers compared at a glance, with the option to buy without leaving the page.
Setting it up
- Add the section and write the heading under Content.
- Configure card behavior under Cards — this controls how the facts and the purchase bar lay out.
- Add one Product block per item, up to eight. Each picks a product and carries its own facts.
- Set a color scheme under Style.
- Set Fact 1 source, Fact 2 source, and Fact 3 source to a category attribute so every card fills from its own product. The typed value on a card is the fallback. See Per-product content.
Where the content comes from
Product identity, price, and availability come from Shopify. The facts on each card are block content, because they are category-specific and Shopify has no native field for them.
Notes and cautions
- On mobile the cards become a scroll rail. Put your strongest product first.
Evidence cards and set contents
Show the products included in a set
On a product page, Evidence cards reads custom.set_contents when it is a product
metafield of type List of products (list.product_reference). Add the included
products to that field on each set product, in display order. The first eight
products are displayed. This lets sets sharing one template show different contents.
The section works on any product template, not only the set template. If the field is empty or unavailable, select products in the section’s Product blocks. Those manual selections are shared by every product using that template. Automatic cards use the section’s fact labels and resolve facts from each included product; manual cards can also supply their own fact values.
These cards display the products in a set. Their individual purchase actions buy those products separately. The set itself is purchased through Product Stage. The metafield does not configure bundle pricing, component quantities, inventory, or fulfillment. Maintain those through the store’s actual set or bundle setup.
Custom facts for each product card
Use a custom product metafield when the standard category attributes do not cover a value you want to display.
- Create a product metafield definition in Shopify admin, with a supported plain-value type.
- Fill the field on every product that should display it.
- In this section, open a Fact 1, Fact 2, or Fact 3 value source and select Custom product metafield.
- Enter the definition’s full namespace and key, such as
custom.routine_step, in the newly shown metafield identifier field. Enter this as plain text, without a dynamic-source connection. - Save and preview products with different values. Existing manual fallbacks remain available.
See Custom product metafield setup for field creation steps, supported types, this section’s exact fallback behavior, and troubleshooting. If you enter only the key without its namespace, the theme editor displays a message explaining the required format.
Section settings
Every setting on the section itself, in the order it appears in the theme editor. Group headings match the editor's own grouping.
Content
Appears at the top right of the section. Leave blank to hide the link.
Cards
Scales product titles, prices, ratings, and fact rows together on desktop and mobile.
Numbers each card in order, such as 01 through 04.
Shows a star rating for products that have reviews.
Facts
Applies to cards supplied through the custom.set_contents product-list metafield. Manual product blocks use their own labels.
Fills this fact from each product automatically. The card's typed value appears when a product has no data for the attribute.
Enter the full product metafield identifier as plain text, such as custom.when_to_use. Reads each relevant product, including cards with their own product. Supports text, numbers, true/false, and lists of text or numbers. Missing or unsupported values keep the existing manual fallback or empty state.
